Proceeds from the tickets will benefit the Seminarian Education Endowment Fund. The Seminarian Education Fund was created to ensure continual resources for the formation of seminarians to serve as our Diocese’s future leadership.

The Catholic Foundation for the Diocese is proud to announce the Fr. Alfred Galvan Scholarship Fund for Cathedral High School. Fr. Al was a proud Cathedral graduate and attributes his Cathedral experience to why he joined the priesthood. A man from humble beginnings, he was grateful for the opportunity to attend Cathedral. The Fr. Alfred Galvan Scholarship fund of $600,000, which is expected to be fully funded this year, will help many young men achieve their dream of being Cathedral Irishmen despite their financial ability, and it is with great hope they, too, will serve the church in the future as Fr. Al did.

This semester, Catholic Campus Ministry is hosting the Awakening XV Retreat from Friday, April 5th, 2024, through Sunday, April 7th, 2024, at the Holy Cross Retreat Center in Mesilla Park, New Mexico. We are inviting about 30 students and young adults to experience this wonderful retreat.

As we come to the last week of our journey through the sacred season of Lent, a time of reflection and spiritual growth, we are reminded of our commitment to building the Kingdom of Jesus through selfless acts of heartfelt prayers, meaningful fasting, and giving. Lent is an opportunity for each one of us to reignite our hearts and actively participate in this transformative journey.

Let us embrace this final week of our Lenten journey together, embracing the call to pray, fast, and give. Through our collective efforts, we strengthen the bonds of our community and contribute to the everlasting mission of Building His Kingdom.

The Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso is blessed to have had over 400 attendees on the evening of February 20th at the Alamo Drafthouse East for the preview screening of the movie Cabrini. It was such a joyous night celebrating our Diaconate community. The Catholic Foundation raised over $20,000 to support this incredible and much-needed ministry. 

Please pray for Nancy A. Méndez Saucedo, age 83, who died peacefully in Tampa, Florida on February 6, 2024, with her two daughters by her side. Nancy graduated from Loretto Academy High School in 1957. Her experience at Loretto instilled the importance of a Catholic education, and she made sacrifices to ensure her daughters received this same benefit. As a single mom, Nancy gracefully set aside her own priorities to provide her family with opportunities to have a better life than her own. To read her full obituary you can find it here.
