The Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, is a Holy Day of Obligation honoring and celebrating Mary’s motherhood of Jesus. However, in 2024, the obligation to attend Mass is abrogated.

Every year in October, the Diocese of El Paso and the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso conducts the Mass Attendance Count at all Catholic parishes, missions, seminaries, monasteries, and at UTEP’s Campus Ministry that celebrate the Eucharist on the weekends. The Mass Attendance Count helps diocesan leaders use these results as a tool to effectively plan evangelization efforts for the Catholic community throughout the Diocese of El Paso.

By popular demand, the Catholic Foundation invites you to an informative seminar about planning for the end of this life and preparing for a new life in heaven. The event is free and open to the public.
