A group of Cathedral graduates wanted to do something for the math teacher who inspired them to be better men. They established an endowed fund in the name of Luz Ulrickson so that her legacy would live on through scholarships for well-deserving young students who could not otherwise afford to attend Cathedral High School.

The Catholic Foundation raised $121,460 in just one night at the 11th Annual Foundation of Faith Dinner and celebrated the accomplishments of Rudy & Elvia Miles with the 3rd Annual Dei Gratia Award. Proceeds benefit the Foundation whose only purpose is to serve the Catholic Church in the Diocese of El Paso.

The Catholic Foundation shared the great news that 81 students have been awarded a total of $186,775 for the 2017-2018 school year as Bishop’s, Faith, Hunt, Miles, Msgr. Smith, and Saucedo Scholars.

76,242 individuals were counted during the 2017 Spring Mass Count on May 20 and 21. 32,791 of the attendees went to Mass in English, 41,234 in Spanish. 1,958 individuals attended bilingual Mass and 259 individuals attended the Latin Rite Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, located in downtown El Paso.

Back by popular demand…BOWLING FOR SEMINARIANS is set for Friday, August 4, 2017 at Oasis Lanes on Zaragoza from 6-9 p.m. Bishop Mark Seitz, priests, seminarians, sisters, brothers, and teams from all over the El Paso community are going to bowl for a cause, turning an evening of bowling into a blessing. 100% of the proceeds benefit the Seminarian Education Endowment Fund.

The Catholic Foundation provided a training at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini on the morning of Saturday, June 10. It offered the parish an opportunity to gather as a community to learn and celebrate the practical value of stewardship.
