Professionals and volunteers from around the El Paso community and across the state have come together to work on a the first ever project of its kind in the Segundo Barrio: Restore Sacred Heart Church. The Segundo Barrio National Historic District will be established in 2021 thanks to El Paso County, the Texas Historical Commission, and the National Park Service.

A total of 5,500 donors contributed $1,924,673 to 216 nonprofits during the 5th Annual El Paso Giving Day! The Foundation is deeply grateful for everyone who gave a total of $10,225 in support of permanent deacons, and for your continued prayers.

El Paso Giving Day is launching on October 8 and ending on October 15, 2020 when Walmart will match gifts up to $300,000. This year, we’re fundraising for the Permanent Diaconate Program. Join us for a Virtual Holy Hour on October 15 from 12-1pm at St Mark Parish. It will be live-streamed from the Tepeyac Institute Facebook page.

The Tigua Native American Ministry helps to preserve the presence, identity, and diversity of the people of Ysleta del Sur. It fosters continued spiritual growth and formation, while empowering the Tigua to live in harmony with both their Catholic and Native spirituality.

Guests enjoyed a Virtual Happy Hour sponsored by Nora & Ernie Herrera with The Herrera Group and The Manor at Ten Eleven. Registrants and sponsors received hand delivered swag bags with goodies featuring face coverings from the Office of Religious Formation, margarita mix from So El Paso, and custom The Manor at Ten Eleven shot glasses, and the chance to win raffle prizes.

The destruction of the statue of the Sacred Heart on September 15, 2020 was a wound on the Cathedral, the Diocese, and the entire community. There has been an outpouring of shock and grief, as well as a desire to contribute. The Foundation will help oversee the distribution of donations intended to support the Cathedral Sacred Heart Statue Fund.
