Diocese of El Paso Clergy and Religious will be honored as the 2021 recipients of the Catholic Foundation’s Dei Gratia Award for their heroic ministry during the pandemic.

The Catholic Foundation expanded the Steward of the Year nomination criteria to include seven categories inspired by holiness. Deadline to nominate stewards is September 1, 2021.

The 2021 Progress Catholic Ministry Appeal is well underway, but the annual initiative – which funds the 15 ministries of the Diocese – will be going back into the parish communities in August. Because churches are now at 100% capacity, the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso will return to parishes during the weekends of August 7 and 14.

When most individuals think about the Office of Religious Formation in the Diocese of El Paso, they think about First Communion and Confirmation classes. But in reality, the small staff – which is comprised of two full-time and two part-time team members – assists in preparing individuals for a lifelong relationship with Christ.

Among the clergy appointments announced in May by Bishop Mark J. Seitz, D.D., was the retirement of two diocesan priests. The priests set to retire are Rev. Raúl Trigueros and Rev. Msgr. David Fierro.
