About this Fund

Sisters Caroline and Cecilia Vasquez, OSF, were siblings who both belonged to the order Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

For the last 46 years of Sr. Caroline’s life, she served as a teacher and principal in many Catholic schools around the country, including St. Louis, MO; West Monroe and Monroe, LA; Chicago, IL; Humbolt, TN; Kansas City, KS; and El Paso, TX. For the last 24 years, she served as principal at Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Schools.

Sr. Cecilia was a nurse, counselor, and justice and peace coordinator at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School. She dedicated her life to helping the voiceless and the less fortunate, and gave of herself to all her students, school parents, teachers.

This fund will provide scholarships for students from the Our Lady of the Valley Catholic community to attend a Catholic school in El Paso and honor the Sisters' work and dedication to educating El Paso's youth.

Why Give to Endowment?

Endowed funds provide a vehicle through which individuals make outright or planned gifts that will have an everlasting impact on the ministry/parish/school. In time the income generated by the gift will far exceed the original donation. As a result, endowed funds provide a perpetual, supplemental source of income for such things as the enhancement of programs and ministries, facilities maintenance, scholarships and seminary assistance, priest retirement, etc. Learn more about endowed funds.
