We’re so proud of our Catholic Foundation Scholars—all 159 of them—and wish we could have come together to celebrate the annual Foundation Scholars Prayer Breakfast in person. During this pandemic, one of the kindest things we can do is to keep each other safe and healthy until we overcome this great challenge.
We can’t gather for a big celebration during the 47th National Catholic Schools Week (January 31 - February 6) so we invite you to commemorate a Virtual 8th Annual Foundation Scholars Prayer Breakfast by enjoying your own breakfast and coffee and then joining us for Mass celebrated by Bishop Mark on Sunday, January 31 and Sunday, February 7 at 11am. The Masses will be broadcast on channel 7.2 and the Diocese of El Paso Facebook page.
The Catholic Foundation awarded $191,226 to 159 Foundation Scholars attending El Paso’s Catholic Schools during the 2020-2021 school year. Most of the scholarships were distributed from endowed funds, with the remainder coming from donations. The Foundation secures grants and manages endowments to help high achieving students and children from low and middle-income families have the opportunity to experience the gift of a Catholic education.
Congratulations to all of our Catholic Foundation Scholars from Cathedral High School, Father Yermo Schools, Loretto Academy, Most Holy Trinity Catholic School, St. Joseph’s, St. Matthew Catholic School, St. Patrick Cathedral School, St. Pius X School, and St. Raphael Catholic School.
“For I know well the plans I have in mind for you—oracle of the LORD—plans for your welfare and not for woe, so as to give you a future of hope.” — Jeremiah 29:11
