The 2021 Progress Catholic Ministry Appeal is well underway, but the annual initiative – which funds the 15 ministries of the Diocese – will be going back into the parish communities in August. Because churches are now at 100% capacity, the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso will return to parishes during the weekends of August 7 and 14.
During those two Commitment Weekends, the faithful will be asked to support the appeal financially. Envelopes will be available during the Masses, and Progress Leaders and pastors will explain the importance of supporting the appeal.
Currently, the Catholic Ministry Appeal is 70% towards the $1.9 million goal with $1.32 million in pledges. Thank you!
“Despite many challenges, the faithful of the Diocese have once again been very generous, and we are most grateful,” said Linda Caro, Chief Operating Officer for the Catholic Foundation. “I’m convinced that people support the appeal because they recognize the good and important work the Church does year-round in serving others. Our pastors too should be commended for the very strong leadership they have provided for the Catholic Ministry Appeal. But more work has to be done to fund the ministries of the diocese fully.”
Parishioners can support the Progress Catholic Ministry Appeal during Mass on one of the Commitment Weekends or by making a donation online.
