A papal fundraising dinner for the benefit of the Diocese of El Paso, hosted by Nora & Ernie Herrera of The Herrera Group, with the generous participation of the Congreso, was held on Wednesday, January 27 in anticipation of the visit from Pope Francis to Juárez next month.
Eighty guests were treated to an intimate seated dinner in the historic Trost building, home to The Herrera Group, located at 1011 N. Mesa Street near St. Patrick Cathedral. It was a lovely evening filled with prayer, positive messages, and unity.
Special guests included Most Reverend Mark J. Seitz, D.D., Bishop of El Paso; Very Reverend Anthony C. Celino, Vicar General; Msgr. J. Brian Bransfield, STD, the General Secretary of the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops (Archdiocese of Philadelphia); and Mayor Oscar Leeser and his wife, Lisa. The wine was donated by Republic National, Spec’s and Wine Attitude. Funds raised will help to offset the expenses of the papal telecast and celebration at the Sun Bowl.
