The Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso is accompanying the parishes of Our Lady of Peace in Alpine, St. Mary in Marfa, St. John the Apostle in Monahans, and St. Thomas in Kermit as they participate in the Increased Offertory Program, a stewardship initiative made possible through the generous support of Catholic Extension.

The Increased Offertory Program is designed to help parishes renew their sense of stewardship by encouraging parishioners to reflect on their blessings and make a prayerful commitment to support their parish community. Through a series of coordinated activities—including pastor letters, pulpit announcements, lay witness talks, and follow-up communications—parishioners are invited to grow in gratitude, deepen their faith, and increase their regular offertory giving.

The program also provides important resources for pastors and parish leaders, supporting them in strengthening parish engagement, improving communication, and planning for long-term financial stability. More than a financial initiative, the program fosters spiritual renewal by helping communities reconnect with gratitude, generosity, and shared mission.

Thanks to Catholic Extension’s generosity, each parish has been able to implement the program with professional materials, communication tools, and pastoral guidance provided by the Catholic Foundation’s Stewardship Coordinator, Karina Sandoval.

Participating parishes have already begun to see positive results. St. John the Apostle Parish experienced a 31% increase in its average offertory in just one weekend. Online giving also grew by 20%. These early outcomes reflect strong parish engagement, renewed enthusiasm, and a deepening spirit of generosity among parishioners.

As the program continues, the Catholic Foundation and the participating parishes remain hopeful for continued growth—both in offertory support and in renewed faith and participation throughout the communities. This collaboration stands as a powerful example of what can be achieved when generosity, prayer, and partnership come together for the good of the Church.
