The Diocese of El Paso is celebrating encouraging results from this year’s annual Mass Attendance Count, reflecting a renewed spirit of connection, hope, and unity across our Catholic community. The count, conducted on the weekends of October 11–12 and 18–19, 2025, highlights the many ways individuals are returning to parish life and deepening their participation in the Eucharist.
This year’s report shows that an average of 55,786 people attended Mass in person, marking a 4.27 percent increase from last year. To provide a clearer picture of parish life across the region, the Catholic Foundation also released attendance figures by vicariate:
• East Vicariate: 18,419 attendees
• Central Vicariate: 6,396 attendees
• West Vicariate: 11,340 attendees
• Northeast Vicariate: 6,343 attendees
• Mission Valley Vicariate: 9,329 attendees
• Rural Vicariate: 3,106 attendees
• Seminaries & Monasteries: 796 attendees
• Catholic Campus Ministry: 60 attendees
These numbers reflect the diverse and vibrant communities that make up the Diocese of El Paso, each contributing to the spiritual life and mission of the Church in meaningful ways.
The Catholic Foundation also tracked participation in televised Masses offered in English and Spanish. An average of 6,940 households tuned in each weekend. While this number is lower than last year, diocesan leaders view it as a positive reflection of more parishioners choosing to gather in person, embracing the beauty of worshiping together as a community.
Stewardship Coordinator, Karina Sandoval, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the vibrant response. “These numbers remind us that our faith community is alive and growing. It is a blessing to see more of our families returning to church, strengthening their relationship with God and with one another,” Sandoval said.
The Annual Mass Attendance Count helps the diocese understand emerging needs and opportunities for ministry, ensuring that parishes continue to offer welcoming, joyful, and spiritually nourishing environments.
As the Church looks to the year ahead, the Diocese of El Paso invites all Catholics to stay involved, invite others, and continue building a strong, faith-filled community rooted in the love of Christ. The growing participation seen this year is a hopeful sign—one that reflects a Church that is alive, united, and joyfully moving forward. It is never too late to renew your faith!
The Catholic Foundation is grateful to all volunteers who made this year’s mass attendance count possible. God bless you and your families.
