Good News from the Catholic Foundation's Grants Program
Good News from the Catholic Foundation's Grants Program

The Grants Development Office of the Catholic Foundation was created to assist diocesan organizations in securing external resources to support their missions. Grants are awarded directly to designated parishes, schools and ministries.

We are pleased to announce that the following ministries received grant funding in September:

  • The Seminarian Formation Program was awarded a $125,000 grant to be paid over the course of five years for tuition assistance. This grant was made possible through a Catholic Extension Strategic Initiative in partnership with Mundelein University.

  • The Permanent Diaconate Program received a $30,000 grant to support the deacon formation program in our diocese. (Scanlan Foundation)

  • La Purisima Church and St. Frances Xavier Church each received a $250 Mass Stipend from Catholic Church Extension Society for prayer intentions.

  • Our Lady of the Light Church received 50 English Bibles from St. Mary’s Press for their 1st and 2nd year confirmation students. Our Lady of the Light is still in need of 50 Spanish Bibles for Spanish-speaking students.

Upcoming Grant Opportunities!
Catholic, private and public schools will be submitting grant requests to the Price’s Creameries Give ‘Em Five Fund in October. Give ‘Em Five® is Price’s Creameries largest community outreach effort. The program is designed to provide a source of additional funding to assist community organizations and schools in planning, developing and implementing innovative programs and creative opportunities which result in increased student achievement. The fund considers grant request for the following projects:

  • Equipment (playground, sports, band, etc.)
  • Books (other than textbooks)
  • Computer Software (no hardware)
  • Student supplies
  • Local field trips
  • Educational field trips
  • Other needs will be considered as well

The Foundation supports the Diocese of El Paso through your gifts of time, talent and treasure. Together we can make a lasting impact on our parishes, schools, ministries and charities.
