As a separate legal entity from the Diocese of El Paso, the Catholic Foundation is not affected by the recent reorganization of the Roman Catholic Diocese of El Paso. We remain committed to our core purpose of raising funds necessary to sustain the parishes, schools, ministries, and charities that continue the teachings of Jesus Christ in our Diocese. All monies raised through the Catholic Foundation are only used for the parishes, programs, services, and ministries for which they are designated. No gifts are used to satisfy legal fees or settlement costs associated with the Roman Catholic Diocese of El Paso’s reorganization.

Now more than ever, we are counting on the community to help us fulfill that mission. Our hearts and prayers remain with the victims and their families.

El Paso Giving Day 2021
El Paso Giving Day 2021

This year’s El Paso Giving Day will be held on October 21, 2021, but the fun begins with Early Giving on October 14th! Our goal is to raise $10,000 to support the work of Sister Silvia at Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Ft. Hancock.

Walmart has made a generous donation to El Paso Giving Day providing matching funds of $100,000 for organizations to earn. UNIQUE gifts of $100 or less made on October 21 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. MST are eligible to be matched 100 percent by Walmart until the $100,000 in matching funds are exhausted.

Give during the Brown Bag Power Hour from 12 - 1 PM on October 21 and the Catholic Foundation could win big. The three organizations (small, medium, large) that receive the MOST online unique verified donations during the designated time will win $1,000 each. The hour is sponsored by TFCU.

In honor of our clergy and religious—priests, deacons, religious brothers and sisters—the 2021 recipients of the Catholic Foundation’s Dei Gratia Award, we’re raising funds to support the ministry of Sister Silvia Chacón at Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Ft. Hancock.

Sister Silvia fills every role required to run a church, including catechetical leader, parish life coordinator, confirmation coordinator, choir director and ministry trainer. When needed, she even becomes a handywoman, repairing items and church pews.

Built in 1928, Santa Teresa Catholic Church is in need of many repairs. But what Sister Silvia wants most for the people in the community are classrooms for the children to meet, learn, draw, create, pray, and come together.

Click here to donate at 8:30am or 12 Noon on October 21.

Meet Sister Silvia!
