As a Catholic School Alumna, one of the things I remember was playing Bible Basketball at St. Joseph in 8th grade. We would spend 6th and 7th grades learning the New Testament and the Old Testament, and in 8th grade was when we would get ready for the major competition between the “A” and the “B” class. Brother Phillip Oswald would pop quiz us at the end of each class. Because of Bible Basketball I still remember the three languages the bible was written in -Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic. The easy questions were 1 pointers and the hard ones were 3 pointers, and you could steal a question. The class that won, would get a pizza party and winner’s naming rights. In the spirit of this memory, I thought why not make it a fundraiser for Catholic School Awareness Week.
