Since 2017, the Catholic Foundation has proudly recognized the good works of our Catholic community. We are in search of exceptional individuals who have demonstrated a life of Stewardship in our parishes, Catholic schools, or diocesan ministries to recognize them and inspire others to PRAY, SERVE, and GIVE.

The 2025 Steward of the Year Contest categories are:

• St. Frances Xavier Cabrini: Ministry for Refugees and Immigrants

• San Pedro de Jesus Maldonado: Ministry of Leadership

• St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta: Ministry to the Poor

• St. Juan Diego: Ministry of Communication and Evangelization

• St. John of God: Ministry of Health and Bereavement

• St. John Baptist de la Salle: Ministry of Education and Religious Formation

• Blessed Carlo Acutis: Youth Category to recognize service by and for Youth and Young Adults

The Steward of the Year will be recognized on the Catholic Foundation’s website, social media, Rio Grande Catholic Newspaper, and during the 19th Annual Foundation of Faith Event: Let Your Hope Shine on Thursday, September 4th, 2025, at the Starlight Event Center with special guest Sister Josephine Garrett. In addition, the Steward of the Year will receive a $100 gift card, and the respective parish, ministry, or Catholic school will receive $1,000. Category winners will receive $50 each.

This year, the Pastor, Parish/Catholic school administrators, and Diocesan Directors can designate a person to submit the nomination on behalf of the Parish, Catholic school, or Diocesan Ministry. Nomination forms and a picture of the nominee are due by e-mail to Stewardship Coordinator Karina Sandoval at ksandoval@catholicfoundationelpaso.org before Monday, June 30, 2025.
