The Diocese of El Paso rejoices in the ordination of two new priests and gives thanks for the blessing of their vocations.
The Most Rev. Mark Joseph Seitz, D.D., Bishop of El Paso, ordained Germán Alzate and Victorino Loresca to the Priesthood on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 6:30 pm during a special Mass at St. Patrick Cathedral in downtown El Paso. The music was provided by the Diocesan Choir and led by Director Peter Kolar. Rev. Marcus McFadin, D.Min., served as Master of Ceremonies. Guests and clergy from all over the country and the world joined the celebration.
The Rite of Ordination and the Ordination Mass comprise one of the most beautiful, solemn, and joyful liturgies celebrated in the Catholic Church. Please continue to pray for Frs. Germán Alzate and Victorino Loresca and for our men in formation.
Fr. Victorino celebrated his first Mass on Friday, June 29 at St. Raphael Parish where he will serve as Parochial Vicar, and Fr. Germán celebrated his first Mass at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church the same evening. Fr. Germán returns to Mundelein in the fall to complete a Licentiate of Sacred Theology (STL), before returning to El Paso to serve in 2019.
