The Reverend Monsignor William H. Ryan Fund for Immaculate Conception was created to ensure Immaculate Conception will have funds to care for the building and preservation in perpetuity. Msgr. Ryan served as Pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish from 1986 until 2006 when he retired from ministry. 2018 marked the 25th anniversary of the parish renovation under the leadership of Msgr. Ryan.
Reverend Monsignor William Hugh Ryan came to El Paso from Nebraska in 1940, and worked as a night clerk for the FBI. Following his shift, he would walk over to Immaculate Conception to attend daily Mass. He felt called to the priesthood and was ordained for the Diocese of El Paso on May 27, 1948.
His first assignment was at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in the lower valley and he served at numerous parishes in El Paso and Las Cruces when Southern New Mexico and West Texas were all in the same diocese. Msgr. Ryan retired in 2006 after working for 58 years as a priest, including serving Immaculate Conception Parish for 20 years. He was sad to retire from the vocation he so dearly loved and leaves a great legacy. Gifts to the Reverend Monsignor William H. Ryan Fund will ensure that Immaculate Conception Parish will be preserved and maintained.
Gifts and pledges of all sizes are welcome. Tax-deductible donations can be made on a one-time basis or over a period of 1-5 years.
