Estrella del Paso (DMRS)

Estrella del Paso (Previously Diocesan Migrant and Refugee Services, Inc.) opened its doors in 1986 in collaboration with the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. A ministry of the Catholic Diocese of El Paso, Estrella del Paso is the only full-service immigration legal aid clinic serving low-income immigrants and refugees residing in the southwestern United States.

Estrella del Paso provides a comprehensive range of immigration legal services, including representation in family-based immigration matters, Citizenship/Naturalization matters, matters related to benefits for survivors of domestic violence and other crimes, and removal proceedings before the Immigration Courts. Estrella del Paso has been unifying families and serving the immigrant community since 1986.

Estrella del Paso provides vital legal representation to foreign-born priests, newly ordained priests who were not born in the United States, and religious workers who wish to serve in the Diocese of El Paso. By ensuring that their paperwork is properly prepared and approved, DMRS assists the Diocese in meeting the needs of its parishioners. These priests and women religious provide much-needed support and services throughout the Diocese of El Paso. Since 2015, Estrella del Paso has filed 87 petitions for foreign-born religious workers.
