About This Fund

Sisters Caroline and Cecilia Vasquez were siblings who belonged to the order of Franciscan Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

For the last 46 years of Sister Caroline’s life, she served as a teacher and principal in many Catholic schools around the country, including St. Louis, MO; West Monroe and Monroe, LA; Chicago, IL; Humbolt, TN; Kansas City, KS; and El Paso, TX. For the last 24 years, she served as principal at Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Schools.

Sister Cecilia was a nurse, counselor, and justice and peace coordinator at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School. She dedicated her life to helping the voiceless and the less fortunate, and gave of herself to all her students, school parents, teachers.

This fund will provide scholarships for students from the Our Lady of the Valley Catholic community to attend a Catholic school in El Paso and honor the Sisters’ work and dedication to educating El Paso’s youth.
