This year’s keynote speaker will be Sister Josephine Garrett, CSFN. Sr. Josephine was born and raised Baptist in Houston, Texas. She earned a bachelor’s in politics from the University of Dallas and entered the Catholic Church shortly thereafter. Sr. Josephine served in the banking industry for 10 years as a Vice President for Bank of America. In 2011, she began her religious formation with the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, professing final vows in November 2020. She is a nationally certified and licensed counselor specializing in trauma and the treatment of children and adolescents, and she serves in private practice as a counselor in Tyler, Texas. A board member of the Laboure Society and Life Teen, she is also the author of Hope: An Invitation, Wilderness Within a Lenten meditation journal and host of the Hope Stories podcast.

Sister Josephine will share her journey of faith, the challenges she faced, her experiences of prayer, and the moments of surrender she had to make in her life. By drawing upon her own personal and traumatic experiences, she sheds light on the power of hope and how it served as an ‘anchor’ guiding her through her most difficult times and how she found hope in the strength of the Lord.

Sister Josephine has filled audiences at many Catholic conferences, including appearances at SEEK, Christ Our Life Catholic Conference, Steubenville, GIVEN Catholic Young Women’s Leadership Forums, and the National Eucharistic Congress. She also serves as a voice for mental health on various platforms such as Formed and Hallow.

The 19th Annual Foundation of Faith Event will be held on Thursday, September 4th, at 5 pm at the Starlight Event Center. This is the largest fundraiser for the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso and helps us fund our mission endowment funds for the Diocese of El Paso.
