About this Fund

Reverend Monsignor William Hugh Ryan came to El Paso from Nebraska in 1940, and worked as a night clerk for the FBI. Following his shift, he would walk over to Immaculate Conception to attend daily Mass. He felt called to the priesthood and was ordained for the Diocese of El Paso on May 27, 1948.

His first assignment was at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in the lower valley and he served at numerous parishes in El Paso and Las Cruces when Southern New Mexico and West Texas were all in the same diocese. Msgr. Ryan retired in 2006 after working for 58 years as a priest, including serving Immaculate Conception Parish for 20 years. He was sad to retire from the vocation he so dearly loved and leaves a great legacy. Gifts to the Reverend Monsignor William H. Ryan Fund will ensure that Immaculate Conception Parish will be preserved and maintained.

Gifts and pledges of all sizes are welcome. Tax-deductible donations can be made on a one-time basis or over a period of 1-5 years. Cash, checks, credit cards and automatic debit are accepted as well as gifts of stock and planned gifts. You may choose the Foundation for the Diocese of El Paso to leave a bequest for the Reverend Monsignor William H. Ryan Fund for Immaculate Conception in honor of Msgr. Ryan. Help honor his life and vocation with this very special gift.

Why Give to Endowment?

Endowed funds provide a vehicle through which individuals make outright or planned gifts that will have an everlasting impact on the ministry/parish/school. In time the income generated by the gift will far exceed the original donation.

As a result, endowed funds provide a perpetual, supplemental source of income for such things as the enhancement of programs and ministries, facilities maintenance, scholarships and seminary assistance, priest retirement, etc. Learn more about endowed funds.
